5 & 6 Tulip Ave

Sep 7, 2017

The twin homes stood side by side, one white with a red door, the other a soft mint green with a blue door, both with fresh flowers in the windowboxes. The mailboxes were the old fashioned kind, attached to the front of the house, each with a little lid that lifted up and two hooks underneath to hold a newspaper. Inside they were mirror opposites of each other, but both were nicely kept and fresh and welcoming. All of this was lovely and it wasn’t uncommon for passers by to stop and admire the charming pair. But the thing that made the charm complete was that they were currently owned by a pair of women who had become best friends as little girls and promised to live next door to each other when they grew up. And did.
