Naps, Pickle Breath, and Something Else

Mar 13, 2017

NAPS — I have kind of a love-hate relationship with naps. On the one hand I love them because, duh. On the other hand, I hate waking up feeling groggy and hot with a sense of dread about having wasted that much time lying around when I could have been having some personal time doing something, ya know, life enriching. But some days naps are the only way and that was definitely the case today. I’d like to think it means I could stay up a little later this evening doing something personally fulfilling, but realistically I think it just means I’ll be able to make it through the evening now.Β

PICKLE BREATH — I couldn’t figure out why Felix smelled so bad all the time until I realized one day that the pickles Bryan was giving him for lunch were making his breath smell so bad. I put a ban on pickles for the three year old for a bit, but today when Bryan didn’t give him one at lunch he made the saddest toddler cry face and I caved. But just now when Felix came up to check my heart with the pink plastic stethoscope and breathed in my face I remembered all over again why it’s maybe worth it to just make him cry instead. But on the upside, he told me my heart was all healthy.

SOMETHING ELSE — I was gonna write about something else and I honestly have no idea what it was now. That’s what happens when you’re groggy from naps and wake up in a fog of pickle breath.

Pickle breath! Bahahahaha! That is so funny. Also, I totally know what you’re talking about with that toddler cry face. When their little faces just crumple up, oh man, I cave all the time too! But I have a good solution for you. Lately, P has been super into those wintergreen mint lifesavers. They are like the perfect toddler candy because it’s a lifesaver so pretty safe to give them AND bonus – after they eat them and love them, fresh breath! πŸ™‚ So as long as you feel comfortable giving him a lifesaver, maybe that could help! πŸ™‚
