Made some sugar cookies just for fun last night 🌿 #katielewiscookies
Finding joy in these little Spider-Man cupcakes I made today. Our middle boy turned 5 & loves all things Spider-Man, so ya know. I made the webs & the number 5 by melting white almond bark, putting it in a squeezey tube, & piping the shapes onto parchment paper. Once they hardened (10-15 min?) I frosted the cupcakes & popped the decals on. My 9 year old daughter can’t get over the fact that “we made our own giant sprinkles!” 😉🎈🧁 #katielewisbakes
Moving + homeschool + keeping the toddler alive are taking up all my time & energy, but my soul sure misses making. 🔨❤️🙌🏻 (this scene is from my days in the garage this past fall/winter building lots of little boats & buildings for the kids to open Christmas morning. So much fun to make & equally fun to watch the kids play with) #katielewismakes
Celebrating our favorite 5 year old in style today. He looked around at the cakes in the grocery store bakery & requested one like this, so I did my best! 🖤 Also, question for you guys—have you ever tried freezing cakes to make them easier to frost? I tried it this time around & it was... just as crumbly as not freezing them. Please advise. #katielewisbakes
Wishing I could go downstairs & make something with my hands, but everything still needs to stay staged & ship shape while we’re selling our home, so in the mean time: some day dreams from lately... // Finally building our own home (someday) & adding a little barn on the property where I could host workshops & get togethers. Maybe build a few teeny tiny houses where guests could stay too. // Continue working on my plan of salvation quilt. It’s been in progress for months & with all the moving & making plans, I’ve barely even started. // Sewing more clothes for myself and my kids. More tops & some jeans inspired by a new fave pair I saw a friend wear the other day, built for work + play & timelessly good. // Write more. Poetry, thoughts, fiction. The truth is I’m a terrible fiction writer, but that’s no reason not to do it. // Work on my sweater. I finished knitting all the pieces, but I’ve never properly blocked any knitting or seamed pieces together and both are intimidating me. But I also want to have something to knit again and eventually be able to wear it. // #katielewisdailyshare
My daughter beat me to it, but tonight after the kids went to bed I also finished reading The Book of Mormon. I’ve read it many times before and my testimony of the Lord deepens every time I do, but this time was different in several ways. It was the shortest amount of time in which I’ve ever read The Book of Mormon. It was the first time I’ve read it alongside one of my children. And as I read it this time I followed President @russellmnelson ‘s counsel to highlight each reference to the Savior. By all His names, in all His love and mercy and calls to repentance, through all His prophets and disciples and counsels and commands, and by His very own voice. The pages of my Book of Mormon are shining with the pure and simple testimony that I have come to know personally—that Jesus is the Christ and that He loves us and calls us ever back to Him. I used this highlighter on each and every reference. This bit is all that’s left. #katielewisdailyshare
